British soda is all made with real sugar as opposed to high fructose corn syrup.
The reason why American soda is full of corn syrup is primarily because the American government has subsidized corn production, Sugar Cane and Sugar Beet production being subsidized in other countries. Basically Corn Syrup has been cheap in the US, but yeah in soda it just doesn't taste as good as real sugar.
I recently picked up some Pepsi Throwback and it definitely tastes better than regular Pepsi, the real sugar gives you stomach a fuller filled up feeling that you don't get with the Corn Syrup soda.
Hopefully sugar based sodas will become more common in the US.
The only thing I don't like is the name "Throwback" the term Vintage or Classic or Original or some combo like Classic Original would have been better.
